Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack is proud community supporters of the Canadian Cancer Society and First Choice Haircutters. Every April, the Canadian Cancer Society celebrates Daffodil Month, a time to generate hope in the fight against cancer, while raising awareness and funds in support of cancer research and support services. First Choice Haircutters salons throughout Canada are proud to join the Canadian Cancer Society again this April in the fight against childhood cancer.

From Monday, April 21 through Sunday, April 27, participating First Choice Haircutters salons are donating 50¢ from every haircut to the Canadian Cancer Society. All the money raised will go toward Society-funded childhood cancer research.

This is the second year that First Choice Haircutters has worked with the Canadian Cancer Society. The 2007 inaugural campaign raised over $60,000. One hundred percent of these funds went directly to the Canadian Cancer Society to fund childhood cancer research and enhance the quality of life for children living with cancer. Awareness was generated for the event through radio promotions, online banners and television appearances. First Choice Haircutters is confident that they will surpass last year's contribution and that their funding will significantly help the approximately 1,289 Canadian children that develop cancer each year. The Owen Sound Attack are very pleased to support First Choice Haircutters and this community initiative
