Atlético Ottawa's Miguel Acosta Named CPL Player of the Week for Week 13

Atlético Ottawa fullback Miguel Acosta has been named the player of the week for week 13 of the CPL season.

Acosta scored his first goal of the season in Ottawa's 2-0 road win against HFX Wanderers on Thursday night. He then made a couple of huge blocks as Ottawa kept yet another clean sheet in a 1-0 away win at Forge on Sunday.

"He is taking a big responsibility," said Atleti head coach Carlos González after the win over Halifax. "Although he is Spanish, you can feel that he is an important player in the squad, he is like a Canadian or an Ottawa [local] player because he has been here for last season."

González went on to call Acosta one of his hardest-working players and was thrilled that he finally got a reward for his work with the goal against Halifax.
