Atlético Ottawa continued to brave the spring showers as over 4,500+ supporters filled the stands at TD Place for the 'Pay What You Can' match, presented by Atleti Equal Access. The 2024 new-look Ottawa team continues to find its feet and build chemistry as last year's runaway CPL regular season winner, Cavalry FC, benefited from a late own goal to salvage a point at TD Place.

KEY MOMENTS

Atlético Ottawa was moments away from making it back-to-back wins to start the season, but Cavalry FC found a late equalizer as the match ended 1-1.

Atlético opened the scoring moments into the second half (47') as new signing Amer Didić rose highest to head home Ollie Bassett's corner kick.

Maxim Tissot hit the post in the final few minutes of the match (88').

Cavalry found a late equalizer (90') as Ottawa defender Kris Twardek turned a cross into the back of his own net under pressure in the box.

Central defender Amer Didić led from the back, as well as providing an aerial threat during set pieces in the attacking phase.

Didić led in aerial duels (7), total passes (55) and interceptions (3).

This was Atlético Ottawa's 100th competitive match (all competitions).

Local defender, Tyr Walker (of Russell, ON) made his home debut coming on in the 82nd minute.

Walker is a product of the 'Powered By Atlético' program having come through the local youth system, before being identified by the Development Program and succeeding in first-team training.

Attendance: 4,569
