Atlanta Vibe Pro Volleyball Set to Start Inaugural Season Training Camp

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Atlanta Vibe, the city's first ever women's professional volleyball team, begins Training Camp on Wednesday, January 3, with 20 athletes coming to Atlanta to compete for 14 roster spots for the Vibe's inaugural season, beginning January 24. Head coach Todd Dagenais leads a group of Olympians, NCAA Champions and multi-year AVCA All-Americans in a three-week camp that will culminate in the final roster that will lead the Vibe on the hunt for the first ever Pro Volleyball Federation Championship.

The Vibe's training camp roster includes several players to watch. Among those are Libero Morgan Hentz, who brings Olympic gym experience to Atlanta, having spent the last two years competing with Team USA. The 2023 Athletes Unlimited Defensive Player of the Year has three years of pro experience after the three-time First Team AVCA All-American led the Stanford Cardinal to three NCAA Championships. Her NCAA Championship team teammate, Meghan McClure Jemison, will be joining her at the Vibe's 2024 Training Camp.

This week's camp will serve as a first look at outside hitter Leah Edmond on the court in Atlanta as she joins the Vibe after claiming the 2023 Athletes Unlimited Champion title and spending the NCAA season calling games on SEC Network. Four-time AVCA All-American Edmond was a standout at Kentucky before beginning her pro career and becoming the first-ever signee in the Pro Volleyball Federation.

Setter Tori Dilfer-Stringer looks to lead the Vibe to a Championship after working alongside the league to help it to develop into a league that works for its players. Dilfer-Stringer and her teammate Morgan Hentz both serve as Player Relations Associates with the Pro Volleyball Federation.

Magda Jehláøová^, Chiamaka Nwokolo, Whitney Bower, Kamaile Hiapo and Kara McGhee all make their pro careers after being selected by the Vibe in the 2023 Pro Volleyball Federation Draft. Jehláøová and Nwokolo were both selected in the first round, with Nwokolo being selected by the Vibe with the No. 6 overall pick and the Vibe acquiring Jehláøová (No. 2 overall pick) via trade. Georgia standout Kacie Evans also starts her pro career after signing with the Vibe as a free agent following the Draft. Evans, a three-time All-SEC Team honoree, leaves UGA as the Dawgs' all-time sets played record holder (517).

Regan Pittman came out of retirement to play in the Pro Volleyball Federation this season, having spent the last two years postgrad starting and running her business, Stand Tall Volleyball Academy. At the University of Minnesota, Pittman was a three-time AVCA All-American honoree and a three-time All-Big Ten First Team selection.

Team rosters must be trimmed to 14 players, plus two practice players, by Monday, January 22.
