Atlanta Recalls Berkhoel

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled goaltender ADAM BERKHOEL (BUHRK-uhl) from the Chicago Wolves.

BERKHOEL, who was reassigned to the Wolves on Monday, made his NHL debut last Saturday with Atlanta, recording 24 saves on 29 shots in a 5-1 loss to the New York Rangers.

The St. Paul, Minn., native ranks sixth in the AHL with a .939 save percentage (77 saves on 82 shots), which includes recording 40 saves on 42 shots to earn his first AHL win on Oct. 7 against the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights. He has recorded a 1-1-0 mark and a 2.53 goals-against average in two games with the Wolves this year.

BERKHOEL will join Wolves netminder MICHAEL GARNETT and defenseman MARK POPOVIC (poh-PUH-vihk) in Atlanta.
