Atlanta Dream News Release
ATLANTA, March 11, 2010- The Atlanta Dream traded center Michelle Snow to the San Antonio Silver Stars today in exchange for the rights to guard Dalma Ivanyi and a 2011 second round draft pick.
"Dalma is a scoring point guard who can shoot the three or penetrate and dish," said Dream General Manager & Head Coach Marynell Meadors. "She has a great ability to get the ball to people where they can be successful."
Ivanyi, a 5-9 guard known for her consistent outside shooting, played in 30 games for the Silvers Stars in 2005. She averaged 2.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 19.2 minutes per game. Ivanyi was the team's best perimeter threat, connecting on 44.4 percent of her attempts from beyond the arc.
The Hungary native is currently averaging 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game for Mizo-Pecs in EuroLeague.
Snow, a 6-5 center, averaged 4.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game last season. She signed with the Dream as a free agent in 2009 after spending her first seven seasons with the Houston Comets. Snow was originally selected with the tenth overall pick in the 2002 Draft after an impressive collegiate career at the University of Tennessee.
The Dream tips off its third season this summer at Philips Arena, with the home opener slated for May 16 against the Indiana Fever at 7 pm. Season tickets and ticket packages are now available for purchase by calling 1-877-977-7729 or visiting www.AtlantaDream.net. Individual game tickets will be available for purchase in the spring.
