Chicago Express News Release
Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, are back at the Sears Centre Arena this weekend, as they host the Florida Everblades on Saturday and Sunday.
After two straight games in Kalamazoo, Chicago takes another crack at a South Division opponent. Saturday, February 25, is AthletiCo Night, and fans can get free Lip Balm and a voucher for a complimentary injury screening from AthletiCo as they enter the arena. The screening includes a free assessment from a licensed medical professional, personal attention to your health, and education of potential injury.
Fans can also take part in the Chuck-A-Puck game during the second intermission. Chuck-A-Pucks are on sale in the concourse during the game, and can be purchased for $1 per puck, or $5 for six pucks. Prizes include tickets to future Express games, a Chicago Express Tuxedo Jersey worn during warm-ups for the inaugural home game, and an oil change from Biggers Chevrolet. Winners of the Express tickets and oil change are also entered to win a trip from Apple Vacations or a big screen TV.
Saturday night will also feature three Express players wearing special jerseys as part of the ECHL Silver Skater and Golden Goalie programs. Defensemen Nathan Lutz and D Darcy Campbell will wear a special jersey designating them as Silver Skaters, while goaltender Peter Mannino will wear a special metallic-gold jersey as Chicago's golden goalie.
The fun doesn't end with the final horn, however, as two Express players will head up to the autograph booth located in the Club. Everyone in attendance is invited to stop by for pictures and autographs. A Club ticket is not required to attend the autograph session.
The two clubs meet again on Sunday, and as with all of our Sunday games, all fans in attendance are invited to skate with the team after the game. Limited skate rental is available, so fans are encouraged to bring their own skates to the game. The players on the ice will also be available for pictures and autographs during the skate.
After the first period, the Yellow Jackets hockey mite team will hit the ice for a chance to show off their skills with a shootout contest. During the second intermission, fans can throw Chuck-A-Pucks on the ice for a chance to win some great prizes.
Fans are also invited to enjoy Trax Town, courtesy of the Great American Insurance Group, during every home game. Admission to Trax Town is free with your ticket to the game, and includes fun hockey related games such as air hockey, bubble hockey, Gockey, inflatable puck shots, and NHL 2012 on different video game platforms.
