STATEN ISLAND, NY - Zach Ashford crushed his first pro home run, but the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, dropped a 5-2 decision to the Staten Island Yankees Saturday night at Richmond County Bank Ballpark in the second game of a three-game set.

BIG MOMENTS

Miguel Flames' RBI groundout in the sixth broke the tie, giving the Yankees a 3-2 advantage. Staten Island added two more in the seventh to extend the lead to 5-2.

Zach Ashford's solo blast, his first pro home run, gave Brooklyn a 2-1 lead in the third frame. Juan De Leon tied the game with a solo jack for Staten Island to re-tie the game in the fourth.

Brooklyn reliever Matt Mullenbach stranded runners at second and third base with nobody out in the seventh, striking out the side in relief in his first pro outing.
