
Asante Inks Deal with Richmond

RICHMOND, VA - (Friday, November 22, 2013) - The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Samuel Asante, pending USSF approval.
"Samuel is a fantastic addition to the squad," commented Leigh Cowlishaw, Richmond Kickers Director of Soccer. "He is composed and technically clean on the ball while possessing world class speed and quickness. We are delighted he has decided to join us for the 2014 season."
A native of Sunyani, Ghana, Asante spent the 2013 season with the Charlotte Eagles. Making 21 appearances, he posted one assist during the regular season before recording his first professional goal during the USL PRO Quarterfinals, en route to the league championship match.
The 5'5" midfielder made 60 appearances at Lindsey Wilson College, notching eight goals and 10 assists. Named to the Mid-South All-Conference and Mid-South Conference All-Academic teams, Asante led Lindsey Wilson to two NAIA National Championships. Prior to signing with the Eagles, Asante had stints with USL Premier Development League teams Des Moines Menace and Rochester Thunder.
