
Arquimides Ordoñez Called up to Guatemala National Team

FC Cincinnati Homegrown Player Arquimides Ordoñez has been called up to represent the Guatemalan National Team for upcoming international friendlies against Colombia and Honduras.
The selection to Guatemala's roster is Ordoñez's first call up to the senior team for La Azul y Blanco.
The 19-year-old earned his first call up to the Guatemalan U-20 National Team in June where he impressed in the Concacaf U-20 Championship. He scored five goals in six appearances as part of Guatemala's run to the semifinals to qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia next May.
Ordoñez earned Best XI honors at the Concacaf U-20 Championship. He was the only player in the competition to score in all three group stage matches, followed by goals against Mexico in the quarterfinals and against the Dominican Republic in the semifinals.
Ordoñez has made eight appearances this season for FC Cincinnati. With FC Cincinnati 2 in MLS NEXT Pro competition, he is tied for the team-lead with four goals across 14 games.
Both of Guatemala's international friendlies will be in the United States, beginning on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. against Colombia, and against rivals Honduras at PNC Stadium in Houston on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
FC Cincinnati head west to take on Real Salt Lake on Saturday, Sept. 17. for Kickoff is set for 9:30 p.m. ET from America First Field and the game can be watched on Star64, streamed in-market at fccincinnati.com, out of market on ESPN+ and listened to on the radio on ESPN 1530.
