Armstrong Added to Stamps Practice Roster

The Calgary Stampeders announce that non-import receiver Spencer Armstrong has been added to the club's practice roster.
Calgary selected Armstrong in the fourth round (28th overall) of the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft but had been unavailable to the Stampeders until he completed his service commitments to the U.S. Air Force.
Armstrong played four seasons (2005-08) for Air Force Academy and made a total of 18 receptions for 320 yards and three touchdowns. He also had eight rushing attempts for 99 yards and one touchdown. In 2007, he scored a 48-yard receiving touchdown against Army and an eight-yard rushing touchdown against Notre Dame. Armstrong had two catches for 60 yards against Houston in the 2008 Armed Forces Bowl.
Armstrong was born in Toronto and also lived in Niagara Falls, Ont., before his family moved to Henderson, Nev., when he was seven years old. His father serves in the Canadian Armed Forces and is currently deployed in Afghanistan.
In another transaction, the Stampeders have released import defensive lineman Marvin Booker from the practice roster. Booker is expected to join the National Football League's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Stampeders play host to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday, Aug. 9. Kickoff at McMahon Stadium is at 7 p.m. and tickets are available at Stampeders.com
