Armada Sinks Toros

Tucson Toros News Release
Tucson, AZ-The Tucson Toros were defeated by the Long Beach Armada 13-4 on Sunday night at Hi Corbett Field.
Long Beach SP Jose Lima delivered a pitching gem in his first start against the Toros. Lima went 7 innings allowing only 6 hits while giving up only 2 ERs and striking out 9 Toros. Lima improved his record to (3-4) for the season.
Long Beach experienced an offensive explosion coming courtesy 9 runs in the first 3 innings. Toros SP Vince Davis had a rough outing lasting only 2 innings while giving up 8 ERs off of 8 hits to ultimately earn the loss, and drop his record to (0-1).
Armada LF Casey Garrison went 3-6 with 3 RBIs. C Andy Bouchie went 3-4 with 3 RBIs thanks to a blast over the scoreboard in LF off of the first pitch he saw from Toros reliever Toby Nordman.
Toros 1B Jim Rushford had the best offensive night for the Toros going 3-4 at the plate. LF Lino Garcia added 2 RBIs to go along with his 1-3 offensive output.
The Toros have now dropped two in a row to Long Beach but look to salvage a win in the final game of the three game series tomorrow night. Game time is 7:00 pm and the gates at Hi Corbett will open at 6.
