Arizona's Comeback Earns Final Performance Of The Week

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that the Arizona Sundogs comeback win on March 29th versus the Rocky Mountain Rage has been voted the CHL Performance of the Week for the final week of the season. The Sundogs trailed in the game 5-0 after two periods and by three goals with 1:23 remaining but eventually came out on top with a 7-6 overtime victory.

The come-from-behind win is the second biggest third period comeback in CHL history and is the biggest such third period comeback to win a game in league history. The Sundogs finished the regular season on a nine-game win streak and won the Southwest Division.

The comeback earned 557 votes accounting for 63% of the votes. A total of 890 fans voted in the final poll of the regular season. Earning second place was Ryan Bennett of Youngstown who scored two third period goals in a 3-2 Hounds shootout win over Colorado on March 22nd.

The final nominees for the CHL Performance of the Year will be announced on Tuesday, April 1st with voting occurring at www.centralhockeyleague.com through Tuesday, April 15th.
