Phoenix Rising FC News Release

A three-goal flurry in the first half was too much for Arizona United Soccer Club to overcome as the team fell to Los Angeles Galaxy II, 4-1, at the StubHub Center. Arizona United SC's lone goal came from a Long Tan penalty kick in the 75th minute.

United played Los Dos tough to open the match, absorbing the LA attack and keeping the contest scoreless. But, in the 20th minute, Los Dos' Ryo Fujii broke through the Arizona defense and beat goalkeeper Carl Woszczynski to make it 1-0. Three minutes later, USL's leading scorer, Jack McBean, found the back of the net off a free kick and it was 2-0 within the first half hour of the match.

Fujii struck again in the 33rd minute when he struck a shot from 30 yards out and into the upper left corner of the net to give LA a 3-0 lead before the half. McBean scored the final goal of the match in the 85th minute after deflecting a free kick past Woszczynski.

Arizona United SC (2-5-3) comes back to the Peoria Sports Complex for the third round of the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, June 1, against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Adults can purchase tickets at the box office for just $5. Children 12 years old and younger get in for free.
