
Arizona Sting host Calgary Sunday on team photo day

Glendale, Ariz: The Arizona Sting (4-4) return to action this weekend with back-to-back games. On Saturday, February 28, the Sting travel to San Jose (5-3) to take on the Stealth. The following day, Sunday February 29, the Sting will host the Calgary Roughnecks (4-4) at 5 pm on Team Photo Day. Each fan in attendance will receive a 2003-04 Sting team photo and following the completion of the game, fans will have the opportunity to join the Sting players on the field for photos and autographs.
With two victories this weekend, Arizona will take over sole possession of second place. Arizona is led by All Star Pat Maddalena (21G,17A) and forward Dan Dawson (14G,24A). All Star Goalie Mike Miron who leads the NLL in saves (40.14 per game), has a 12.85 goals against average, will be between the pipes for the Sting.
In their last meeting versus San Jose on January 30, Arizona defeated the Stealth 16-13 at the Glendale Arena. Maddalena scored five goals and added three assists, while Dawson had a game high nine points (3G,6A). This will be the second of three meetings between the two teams.
On Sunday, Arizona will look for revenge when they take on Calgary at home. The last contest between the two teams was a disappointment for Arizona, losing 15-6. All Stars Tracey Kelusky (16G,21A) and Ted Dowling (18G,15A) lead the Roughnecks into battle in their only trip to Glendale Arena.
Arizona is 3-1 at the Glendale Arena and has outscored their opponents 55-46 at home, just shy of 14 goals per game. The Sting are currently the second highest scoring team in the league averaging 13.12 goals per game through eight games played.
