SAN JOSE - The National Lacrosse League announced today that San Jose Stealth forward Dan Teat was voted as Offensive Player of the Week and Overall Player of the Week and team captain and defenseman Cam Woods was voted as Defensive Player of the Week. The weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers and Head Coaches of the League's ten member clubs.
Teat, 32, is currently tied for second on the team in goals (17) and ranks fourth on the team in points (17-9=26). He posted six goals and two assists for eight points including netting the game MVP honors in a 19-12 win over Calgary on Friday Feb. 20 at Penngrowth Saddledome in Calgary.
Woods, 27, collected seven loose balls and tallied three points (2 goals, 1 assist) in the 19-12 win at Calgary. Woods also participated in the NLL All-Star weekend playing for the Western All-Stars at the Pepsi Center in Colorado Feb. 22.
Out of the four League awards given out weekly, (Offensive Player, Defensive Player, Rookie and Overall Player of the Week) the Stealth came away from Week Nine of the 2004 NLL season with three of the awards.
