Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER, Colo. â The Colorado Mammoth on Wednesday activated Brad Self from the National Lacrosse League's holdout list and waived defenseman Tom Ethington.
Self left the Mammoth after one game this season with a back injury that sidelined him briefly. After recovering from the injury he returned to his St. Mary's University hockey team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. St. Mary's has been eliminated from the playoffs and Self rejoins the Mammoth for the second half of its season.
"We're excited to have Brad back and look forward to having him in the lineup," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "His speed, athleticism and scoring ability will be a tremendous complement to our offense. This is a huge boost to the Mammoth in preparation for our stretch playoff run."
Self, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward from Peterborough, Ontario, tallied 12 goals and 14 assists in 10 games for the Ottawa Rebel last season. He had three assists in the Mammoth's 17-8 victory over San Jose on Jan. 2, his only game played this year.
The Mammoth waived Ethington to open a space for Self on the roster. Once Ethington clears NLL waivers he will return to the Mammoth practice squad.
