Teat and San Jose win three awards

February 25, 2004 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) News Release


Dan Teat (hometown: Brampton, Ontario) of the San Jose Stealth was named the Overall Player of the Week and the Offensive Player of the Week for games played during Week #9 of the regular season. Teat scored six goals and added two assists for eight points as the Stealth defeated the Calgary Roughnecks by a score of 19-12.

Cam Woods of the San Jose Stealth was named the Defensive Player of the Week for Week #9. Woods collected seven loose balls and scored two goals and added an assist for three points as the Stealth defeated the Calgary Roughnecks by a score of 19-12.

AJ Shannon of the Buffalo Bandits was named the Rookie of the Week for Week #9. Shannon scored one goal and added one assist for two points and collected four loose balls as the Bandits defeated the Philadelphia Wings by a score of 12-8.

The consideration for the Player of the Week Awards was based on the regular season games played last weekend. The results and player stats from the All-Star Game were not put into consideration for the Week #9 awards.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Dan Teat (San Jose) scored six goals and added two assists for eight points and collected three loose balls in a 19-12 road win over Calgary.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Cam Woods (San Jose) collected seven loose balls and added two goals along with an assist in a 19-12 road win over Calgary.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

AJ Shannon (Buffalo) scored one goal and added an assist for two points, and collected four loose balls in a 12-8 road win over Philadelphia.

OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Dan Teat (San Jose) scored six goals and added two assists for eight points and collected three loose balls in a 19-12 road win over Calgary.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers & Head Coaches of the league's ten member clubs.
