Arizona Hotshots News Release
TODAY'S NEWS
The Hotshots suited up in full pads on a cold and very windy day.
The Hotshots have their second joint practice on Wednesday, January 23 at Southwest High School.
While Coach Neuheisel is not ready to make a depth chart, QB Quinn McQueary ran the offense during the final two-minute drill today.
On brand with Coach Neuheisel's family atmosphere, quarterback Trevor Knight's father was on the sideline for today's practice.
The focal point of "Never Give Up: The Kenneth Walker III Story" children's book, WR Kenneth Walker III spoke to the Hotshots media team today and will have a video feature in the coming days.
A member of The Alliance of American Football, The Arizona Hotshots are led by an experienced professional coaching staff and front office. The Hotshots feature Arizona native Rick Neuheisel as head coach and long-time NFL front office executive Phil Savage as General Manager.
The Arizona Hotshots team headquarters while in training camp in San Antonio will be the Holiday Inn Riverwalk in San Antonio with practices being conducted at Southwest High School.
YOU HEARD IT FROM THE HOTSHOTS:
Coach Neuheisel on Practice today: "Difficult day to throw the ball and be consistent in the wind, but you can't give yourself excuses. It just requires real concentration, and we were not very good today with that concentration. I know it's the middle of camp, but thats for the other teams. We can't give ourselves that excuse, so it wasn't good enough offensively. On the other side of the ball, it was fantastic defensively. I look forward to the offense atoning, and hopefully we'll be much better the next time we come out."
Coach Neuheisel on having Hines Ward at practice: "Everybody here is a football fan. We all know what Hines did in his tenure in the NFL. He's a fantastic player, and I think we all appreciate the fact that he's trying to create, along with all these other guys, a great league for opportunity. You look at him and you say, here's what's possible. You also realize he's putting everything into it, and trying to get this league to a level of sustainability."
