January 18, 2019 - Alliance of American Football (AAF) - Arizona Hotshots News Release

The Hotshots suited up in full pads today after a short walk through yesterday.

The Hotshots have their second joint practice on Wednesday, January 23 at Southwest High School.

While Coach Neuheisel is not ready to make a depth chart, Trevor Knight was the first quarterback on the field for seven-on-seven and other drills today.

With Coach Neuheisel's family atmosphere, quarterback Jack Hennighan's father was on the sideline today.

Today's roster moves:

DB Kamari Cotton-Moya waived (season ending injury, right knee)

WR Gio Pascascio waived

DB Sterling Moore added to the active roster

WR Prince Sholona waived

DB Erick Dargan added to active roster

DT Trenton Thompson added to the active roster

A member of The Alliance of American Football, The Arizona Hotshots are led by an experienced professional coaching staff and front office. The Hotshots feature Arizona native Rick Neuheisel as head coach and long-time NFL front office executive Phil Savage as General Manager.

The Arizona Hotshots team headquarters while in training camp in San Antonio will be the Holiday Inn Riverwalk in San Antonio with practices being conducted at Southwest High School.

Coach Neuheisel on what he likes from practice so far:"Almost everything. There's nothing I don't like. The only thing I don't like is having to say goodbye to youngsters who really want this dream. Unfortunately, that's part of this process. The guys on this team are doing everything we ask of them."

Coach Neuheisel on the defense: "Defense is getting better. Which is the expectation. I mean we got good coaches and good players that are all buying into the deal. When you play the same offense for a couple of weeks, you start to get some of the nuances, so offensively it's good for us to see what they're reading to make the necessary adjustments."

Coach Neuheisel on Scooby Wright being back at practice: "Scooby brought a lot of energy, and he always does. That's why you like him on the field. We'll nurse him back to health, and limit his rest to help get him to the dance."
