Dallas Wings News Release
Arlington, TX - Arike Ogunbowale has been named the Kia Western Conference Player of the Month for May, the league announced today.
Over the course of four games in May, Ogunbowale led the Wings to three wins, averaging 25.3 points, ranking her third in scoring in the WNBA. The fifth-year guard also totaled 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. For her efforts, Ogunbowale was also named the Western Conference Player of the Week on May 30. After her latest 20-plus point performance in a win against Minnesota (5/30), she became the eleventh player in league history and first since 2021 to score 20+ points in the first four games of the season.
Among the three Wings wins, were two Commissioner Cup wins, which led to $4,000 being donated to Sisters Network Dallas, Inc., which is committed to increasing local and national attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African American community. This is Ogunbowale's first career Player of the Month honor.
The Wings (3-1) will battle the Washington Mystics (2-2) tonight at 6 p.m. CT with the game being broadcast on ION.
