Argos Sign Former Patriots Draft Pick P.K. Sam

Mississauga - The Toronto Argonauts are pleased to announce that WR P.K. Sam has signed a practice roster agreement with the club.

The 6"3', 210 lbs. receiver was taken in the fifth round, 164th overall, by the New England Patriots in the 2004 NFL Draft. He played two games that season and earned a Super Bowl championship ring for the Patriots' 24-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Since then, he has attended training camps with the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders. In 2007, he played with the Rhein Fire of NFL Europa where he was the league's fourth-leading receiver, first on the team, with 32 catches for 529 yards.

Sam arrived at the Argos' football operations facility and received a very warm welcome from a host of former teammates including WR Bethel Johnson (New England Patriots), QB/WR Reggie McNeal (Cincinnati Bengals) and QB Cody Pickett (Rhein Fire).

Sam played three seasons at Division 1 Florida State, was named the team's Most Dependable Receiver as a sophomore and started every game as a senior. He played receiver, running back, tight end and returner with the Seminoles.

The Toronto Argonauts have also signed non-import WR #80 Brad Smith to the practice roster, and released non-import LB #14 Yves Hercule and import WR #87 Johnnie Morant.
