Utica Comets News Release

Utica Comets forward Darren Archibald has been added to the list of professional hockey players that will serve as instructors for the inaugural Utica Comets Summer Hockey School. The camp will run August 11-15 at the Utica Memorial Auditorium and the price has been reduced to $425 per camper in honor of Independence Day. The camp is open to boys and girls age 7-14 and a half-day option is available for 6-7 year olds ($300 per camper).

Archibald made his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks during the 2013-14 season and will be entering his fourth professional season in the fall. Canucks forward, and New Hartford native, Mike Zalewski will also work the camp along with Comets defenseman Alex Biega. Comets president, and former NHL goaltender, Robert Esche as well as Utica College women's hockey coach Dave Clausen are also on the roster of instructors.

The Utica Comets Summer Hockey School will give kids the opportunity to skate and train in the same facilities as the Comets. It will feature 12.5 hours of on-ice instruction, 6 hours of off-ice training and 5 hours of classroom chalk talk. The camp will present a positive and fun environment in which to refine and improve hockey skills prior to the upcoming season.
