April Perks Is Recognized as this Week's Peterborough Petes Outstanding Local Minor Hockey Volunteer

(Peterborough, ON) - April Perks, Executive Member of Apsley Minor Hockey Association (AMHA) is recognized as this week's exceptional minor hockey volunteer. The Petes want to celebrate minor hockey volunteers for their contributions to a safe return of minor hockey during this unprecedented season.

Perks is recognized for planning and executing a safe return of hockey for all members of the AMHA this past season. Additionally, Perks is celebrated for making it possible for all families to enjoy the game by offering affordable programming and removing any barrier to accessing the game. Perks has played a vital role in the management of Apsley Minor Hockey program and is a highly respected member of the Apsley community.

"She [Perks] goes above and beyond to oversee Apsley's hockey teams, setting up who plays when, and ensuring everyone gets signed up," says Kelly Peel, who nominated Perks. "She just does it all, she's so important to the program because she's involved in it all and ensures it's running the best it can."

Each week the Petes will recognize and celebrate one volunteer from the PMHC, PHA, PGHA, and local adaptive hockey organizations for their additional time and effort in ensuring a safe environment and return for hockey.

The Petes welcome players, parents and other members of the minor hockey community to nominate deserving local volunteers by filling out this form.
