Apply for Republic FC's Annual El Futuro Scholarship Today

Republic FC's Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations - including the annual Noche Latina match on September 16 - are just around the corner. Each year, in partnership with the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SACHCC), the club is now accepting applications for the 4th annual El Futuro Scholarship. Now through September 6, students can apply to receive the $1,000 grant to help support their college studies as well as an on-field recognition during halftime on Noche Latina.

"The El Futuro Scholarship is a special and unique part of our Hispanic Heritage Month and Noche Latina celebrations because it gives us the opportunity to highlight one of our region's future leaders," said Kevin Burdick, Republic FC Director of Community Investment. "Thank you to the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for their continued partnership and dedication to helping our region thrive."

"Hispanic Heritage Month provides us with an amplified opportunity to highlight the people and businesses that are making a difference in our community," said Cathy Rodriguez Aguirre, SACHCC President and CEO. "It also allows us to recognize our future generation as they pursue their goals to become the next leaders of our Sacramento region. We are excited for our continued partnership with Sacramento Republic FC to award an exceptional student with the El Futuro Scholarship."

Applicants must be currently enrolled at an eligible high school or in a minimum of six units at a California Community College, and intend to enroll in a four-year college or university, or a California Community College (minimum 12 units). Additionally, they must be of Hispanic origin and live in the Sacramento Six-County Regional area - Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba counties. Since 2019, Republic FC has worked with various community partners - including SACHCC, the Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce, and the Sacramento LGBT Community Center - to award $11,000 to young people showing exceptional scholastic leadership and community involvement.

In partnership with SMUD, the Indomitable Club's Hispanic Heritage Month activities will kick off on September 15, highlighting and honoring the region's diverse Hispanic and Latino communities through storytelling, merchandise, and more.
