Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Western Conference Champion San Jose Sharks, are proud to announce that forward Tristan King has been re-signed for the 2016-2017 season.
Tristan King was acquired just a little over a year ago, in a trade with the Missouri Mavericks that sent defenseman Trevor Ludwig to the Show Me State, in exchange for the highly talented forward.
"Tristan brings speed, skill and experience to our lineup," said Americans Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson. "He's one of the top offensive players in the league."
He had 33 points in 53 games for the Americans last season. King scored one of the biggest goals of the postseason for Allen in overtime in Round 1 of the playoffs that eliminated the Idaho Steelheads in a Game 7 showdown.
The native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, played 11 games in the American Hockey League with the Texas Stars in 2011, scoring two goals and adding two assists for four points.
"I'm very excited to return to the Americans, said King." "Allen has been an amazing place to play, along with having the best fans in the league. I'm looking forward to defending our title and keep the winning tradition going."
He played four years of major junior hockey in Canada, with both Portland and Medicine Hat, with his best season coming in 2010 where he had 65 points in 70 games.
The Americans raise the Kelly Cup Banner to the Allen Event Center rafters on Saturday, October 15th against the Missouri Mavericks. Americans Season Tickets are on sale NOW at www.allenamericans.com or call 972-912-1000.
