Another Day, Another Win

Greenville, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, won 5-2 Tuesday afternoon against the Greenville Drive.

The GreenJackets had an early 2-0 lead when the Drive answered with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. From that point on, it felt like first one to score would go on to win the game.

The GreenJackets would be the first to strike in the seventh inning when a Jean Angomas single scored Heliot Ramos from third. Afterwards, the GreenJackets would add to their lead when Jacob Gonzalez doubled to right field, which scored Manuel Geraldo and Angomas. This gave the GreenJackets three runs in the top of the seventh and gave them a 5-2 lead.

On the mound, it was business as usual for the GreenJackets. Garrett Cave went five inning, giving up three runs on two hits. He gave the ball to CJ Gettman, who went two innings giving up one hit. Gettman earned the win, now improving 2-0 on the season. Then Franklin Van Gurp came in for the six out save, giving up only two hits.

The GreenJackets won the first game of the series and will play a double header tomorrow against the Drive starting at 4 pm. The second game will be played 30 minutes after the final out of the first game.

After this series, the GreenJackets will be home for a three game series against the first place Columbia Fireflies.

Friday the 27th will be Nickelodeon night, where we celebrate present and past Nickelodeon hit TV shows! On Saturday the 28th, we will have our Faith and Family night, followed by a fireworks show at the end of the game. Then on Sunday the 29th , we will have our Giants Sunday, were we pay homage to our MLB Parent club, the San Francisco Giants!
