Another Baseball Weekend at Fleming

Wilson, NC - The Wilson Tobs are proud to announce the schedule for the 1st annual Public vs. Home School Baseball Showdown to be held at Historic Fleming Stadium on Saturday, April 21st, 2018. The Showdown will feature three games involving six teams from around the area with games starting 11 am.

The Wilson Tobs are glad to announce that there will be No monetary team entry fee, but instead the entry fee will be non-perishable food donations. Canned food donations provided by players, coaches, fans, and families will be distributed to 14 local food pantries to feed those who are less fortunate in the Wilson County area in participation with the Wilson Tobs 6th Annual Home Run for Hunger Program.

"We are excited to put on such a unique event that is sort of out of the ordinary for high school baseball. We wanted to develop a baseball event that brings together public and home school student athletes and provides them with the opportunity to interact, have fun, and compete against each other," said Wilson Tobs General Manager Mike Bell. "I have no doubt that this will be a successful and competitive showdown that will turn into an annual event at Historic Fleming Stadium."

Saturday's slate of games will begin with Eastern Christian - Washington battling Wake County HS at 11 am. Following the conclusion of that game, Farmville Central will face Southeastern HS at 1:30 pm. The final game of the Showdown will include Southwest Edgecombe taking on Raleigh HS at 4:30 pm. The game schedule is listed below:

Saturday, April 21st

11 am Eastern Christian - Washington vs. Wake County Homeschool

1:30 pm Farmville Central vs. Southeastern Homeschool

4:30 pm Southwest Edgecombe vs. Raleigh Homeschool

For just $7, fans can purchase an all-day pass and enjoy a full day of baseball action at Historic Fleming Stadium. Ticket discounts will apply to those that bring canned food donations for the Wilson Tobs Home Run for Hunger Program. The gates will open at 10 am on Saturday April 21st.

The Wilson Tobs home opener and Firework Show for the 2018 season is Sunday, May 27th. Season tickets and ticket packages are on sale now and can be purchased by calling (252) 291-8627, or by visiting www.wilsontobs.com/tickets.
