Angel City FC News Release
LOS ANGELES - Today, Angel City Football Club (ACFC) announced that Goalkeeper Angelina Anderson has agreed to a two-year contract extension through the end of 2025. Anderson was drafted by Angel City FC with the 27th overall pick in the 2023 NWSL Draft.
"I'm so grateful and excited to be staying in Los Angeles. This team and this community have made my rookie year nothing short of incredible. I have so much belief in this team. I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to continue to grow as a player with such incredible support around me. I cannot wait to see what this club can achieve and I feel honored to be a part of it."
"We are so excited to have extended Angelina's contract with Angel City," said ACFC General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano. "It is important for the future of this club to develop young talent, and Angelina is nothing short of exceptional. Her poise and maturity on and off the field goes far beyond her 22 years. She is hardworking, focused, and such a team player. We look forward to seeing her career flourish as part of our goalkeeping squad."
Anderson, who made her NWSL debut on July 29 against the Portland Thorns in the 2023 UKG NWSL Challenge Cup, has since started in goal in the club's last three regular-season matches and first-ever playoff game. Anderson has only conceded five goals in her six starts across all competitions with one clean sheet, 28 saves, and a 4-2-0 record.
An alum of the University of California, Berkeley, Anderson recorded 26 career shutouts for the Golden Bears, the second-most all-time in school history. She was the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2019.
