Andy Franck Named Goaltender Of The Week

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Youngstown SteelHounds in conjunction with the Central Hockey League announced today Hounds goaltender Andy Franck has been named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending February 3rd.

This is the second Goaltender of the Week honor for Franck. Franck was also honored on October 22nd after beginning the year 2-0-0. The third year pro from Lakewood, Ohio went 2-0-0 over the weekend to help lead the Hounds to their current three-game winning streak. In two games he surrendered just four goals on 76 shots for a .947 save percentage. Friday night at the Odessa Jackalopes he made 28 saves on 29 shots as the Hounds won 4-1. The win snapped Youngstown's six game road losing streak. Saturday night in Oklahoma City he gave up three goals on 18 shots in the first period but was flawless the rest of the way as racked up a total of 44 saves on 47 shots to lead the Hounds to a 4-3 shootout victory. The first year CHL All Star stopped four of five Blazers shots in the shootout. He is 16-7-1 with a 2.80 goals against average and a .903 save percentage in his first year with the SteelHounds.
