Lone Star Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS - Andrew DeCarlo is ready for his third season in the North American Hockey League. Coming off of a career-high 22 points (8g-14a), the forward is looking to improve his game while asserting himself as a dominant force to be reckoned with. DeCarlo averaged 0.51 points per game (43 GP), scoring two power-play and game-winning goals each during the 2019-20 season. But this Huntington Beach, Calif. native isn't done yet. Keep reading to find out what the skater is doing to prep for the year ahead.

Brahmas Media: How would you describe the 2019-20 season in your own experience?

Andrew DeCarlo: It was great to experience all of the success we had. We had a great group. From start to finish, we had an amazing experience altogether. It was really disappointing how it ended. We wish we were able to play and end the season differently. We had a lot of good memories from last season.

BM: What was it like when you learned the season was canceled last spring?

AD: It was abrupt and out of the blue. We were home getting ready for our game on Friday. It was a normal practice on Thursday, and then we came to the rink the next day and got the news. It was a big disappointment from the season we had and the expectations we set.

BM: How have you been staying in shape and keeping yourself motivated during the offseason?

AD: I've been home for a long time. I've been doing what I can while the gyms and rinks are closed. I've been on the rollerblades a lot. We go down to the beach and play three-on-three, pond-hockey style on the blacktop. I've been doing that all summer and have recently been able to get back on the ice a lot more. But yeah, I've been rollerblading a lot.

BM: What is one part of your game that you're confident in and one part of your game that you're looking forward to working on?

AD: This is my third year in the NAHL, so I'm pretty confident in knowing the style of play. I'm excited to get better like we've been doing the past two years.

BM: What are you most excited about for the upcoming season?

AD: I'm excited to get playing again! It's been so long and I feel like I've been home forever. I'm pumped to get playing again and get back into the locker room with the team camaraderie.
