Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights News Release

The WBS Knights of the NAHL are pleased to announce that goaltender Andrei Svistunov has committed to attend and play hockey for the Buffalo State Bengals of the SUNYAC.

"It is very special to see a player who came through our youth program, play exceptionally well for our NAHL team, and secure his commitment to play hockey at the collegiate level. It is a tribute to Andrei's work level and commitment. We are very proud of him and he will hold a special place in our Knights Alumni who have moved on to higher levels of hockey," noted head coach Tom Kowal.

The first year NAHL Knights have now had five players who have secured NCAA commitments, illustrating the extremely high level of play that the league is known for.

" I am honored to announce my commitment to Buffalo State University for fall 2016-17.

I have been accepted to the Mechanical Engineering Technology Program. I am looking forward to playing goalie for the Bengals next season. Buff State provides a great balance of academics and an exciting hockey organization. It is the perfect fit for me.The Bengals coaching staff and players have really made me feel welcome.

I thank the Wilkes Barre-Scranton Knights organization for 3 years of great experience in helping me reach my goal of playing hockey at the university level. Thank you Knights staff, coaches and players past and present. Thank you Holy Cross High School for preparing me academically to enter university.

Finally, I thank my parents and host parents for all their support. Without my 4 parents, none of this would have been possible. They helped me stay focused, work and study hard and keep my eye on my dream."
