Alexandria Blue Anchors News Release
Alexandria, Minn. - The Alexandria Blue Anchors fell to the Waterloo Bucks Thursday night, losing by a final score of 10-2.
Waterloo struck first, scoring three runs in the top of the second. The first of which came on a solo home run by David Kerian. The next two runs would score on RBI singles by Ryan Nagle and Blake Berger.
The Bucks struck again in the third, a solo home run by Will Sparks would make it 4-0, Waterloo through two and a half innings.
The Anchors answered right back however, scoring one run on a Dalton Leuschke RBI single to make it 4-1 Waterloo.
The Bucks added one more in the fifth on an RBI fielder's choice by Mikal Hill and another in the sixth on a Blake Berger solo home to leave it 6-1 Waterloo entering the bottom of the sixth.
Berger would then strike again, hitting another solo shot in the top of the eighth to make it 7-1 Bucks. After that, an RBI single from Will Sparks would tack on another run to make it 8-1.
Alexandria showed some fight in the bottom of the eighth an RBI double from Luke Hermanson would drive in Ben Allen for the Anchors second run of the game. Unfortunately for the Anchors, the Bucks took two back after a wild pitch and an RBI single by Jon McAllister and the deficit would be too much for the Anchors to handle as they would end up losing 10-2.
