Anaheim Arsenal Name Dean Murray Assistant Coach

ANAHEIM, Calif., September 5. , 2007 - The Anaheim Arsenal is proud to announce that Dean Murray will be the assistant coach to Reggie Geary for the 2007-08 seasons. Murray comes to the Arsenal with three years of D-League experience including two regular season championships as an assistant coach of the Columbus Riverdragons and the Charleston Lowgators. Coach Murray also has head coaching experience in the Lithuanian Basketball League.

"I am excited about coaching again in the NBA Development League and working with Head Coach Reggie Geary and the Anaheim Arsenal," Murray stated when asked about being hired by the Arsenal," There have been many positive changes within the D-League since I last coached, one being the addition of the allocation system with NBA teams. This makes the D-League even stronger and truly provides coaches with the opportunity to coach and work with the best players in the world."

"We are very excited to be adding Dean Murray to the Anaheim Arsenal coaching staff," exclaimed Head Coach Reggie Geary," Dean's energy, work ethic, personality, and knowledge of the both the game and the development league make him an excellent addition. Dean brings 20 years of coaching experience and contacts, three of the years as an assistant in the D-League, making him a valuable asset to our organization."

Coach Murray and Coach Geary will begin their time together with the Arsenal on September 22nd & 23rd at the local player tryout. The tryouts will be held at the American Sports Center, the cost to tryout is $150 per person. Each person trying out must first fill out the tryout registration, background authorization, and player eligibility form, which can be found on the Arsenal website.
