Ams and Cougars Faceoff for Game 5 at the Toyota Center

The Americans and Cougars will continue their Round One playoff series tonight at the Toyota Center. The series is currently tied 2-2.

The two teams last played on Wednesday in Kennewick, when the Cougars took a 5-2 victory. Koehn Ziemmer led Prince George with a pair of goals.

Ziemmer opened scoring for Prince George late first period, the first time in this series they have scored first. They were up 3-0 before Tyson Greenway put Tri-City on the board early second period. Down 4-1 late third period, Jalen Luypen came up with one last goal for Tri-City. Prince George netted their first power play goal of the series with a fraction of a second remaining in the game, scored by Chase Wheatcroft.

Despite both teams having excellent power plays during the regular season (Prince George - 27.7%, Tri-City - 27.3%), they have each only scored once on the power play so far in this series (PG - (1/13) 7.7%, Tri-City - (1/14) 7.1%).

Ty Young had his first start in net on Wednesday for the Cougars after relieving Tyler Brennan in net after an injury on Tuesday. Young turned aside 29 of 31 shots faced.

Tomas Suchanek has played in net each game for the Americans. He has an impressive .910 save percentage so far.

Adam Mechura is the series points leader with one goal and five assists. Tyson Greenway has the most goals with four.

The Ams will look to earn a victory tonight and head back to Prince George with a 3-2 series lead.
