Amerks Take On Bulldogs Tonight

Tonight, the Rochester Americans close out their three-game weekend as the Hamilton Bulldogs return to The Blue Cross Arena for a North Division matchup. The 6:05 p.m. contest is the sixth of eight scheduled meetings between the divisional rivals this season and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.

Promotions: The game is part of Zweigle's Family Four Pack, where fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for $55. Fans can call the Amerks office at (585) 454-5335 for more details. Sunday is also Buy One, Get One Half-off night, where fans can purchase a ticket and get another for half the price in any seating section for any Sunday through Thursday game. Tickets can be purchased online through Ticketmaster.com. It's also a RARES Discount Night. The RARES discount is valid for all RARES members by logging onto www.rares.org to review their discounts. Lastly, it also marks the next Military Discount Night, in which active military and veterans can present a Military ID or an American Legion or VFW membership card and receive premium seating for just $10 or 200 End seats for $5, a savings of $12.25 per ticket. All tickets can be purchased directly at the Box Office window at The Blue Cross Arena. After the game, head down to The Distillery at 1142 Mt. Hope Ave. for the official postgame party.

Head-to-Head: Hamilton has the advantage in the season series with Rochester this season, earning wins in four of the last five meetings with Rochester, with the most recent coming in a 4-3 shootout decision on December 28th at Copps Coliseum. The Amerks are 1-3-0-1 this season and 61-49-9 all-time against the Montreal Canadiens' affiliate.

Amerks Notes: Rochester (12-23-0-3, 27 points), the winners in three of its last four, enters the contest coming off a 4-2 loss to the Binghamton Senators last night at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Drew Larman and Janis Sprukts each contributed a goal for the Amerks while Neil Clark recorded his first point as an Amerk as the B-Sens snapped Rochester's three-game winning streak. Sprukts presently reigns as the Amerks' top point-getter with 19 points (8+11). Fourth-year forward Stefan Meyer, coming off a three-game point streak, currently paces Rochester's goal count with a team-high 10 goals, while his 18 points overall tie him for second best on the team. Rookie defenseman Jason Garrison has a team-best 12 assists and continues to remain Rochester's top scoring defenseman with 14 points overall, good enough for fourth best on the team. First-year forward Michael Duco is first on the team with 95 penalty minutes (PIM), with Tanner Glass a close second at 85 PIM. Goaltender Mike Brodeur, who has started 14 of the last 15 games for Rochester, including nine straight, boasts a 9-4-1 in 14 games between the pipes for the Amerks. His 1.73 goals-against average and .942 save percentage are currently the second best in each category among American Hockey League netminders. Further, his two shutouts also tie him for fourth in the league.

Hamilton Notes: Hamilton (24-12-2-0, 50 points), coming off a season-long six-game homestand, comes into the matchup the winners of three straight and six of its last seven, with the most recent coming in a 4-3 win over the Lake Erie Monsters last night at Quicken Loans Arena. Yanick Lehoux currently pilots the Bulldog offense with a team-high 25 assists and 35 points to go along with a plus-four rating. His 25 helpers presently rank him seventh in the AHL. Mike Glumac leads the team with 16 goals, 10 of which have come on the man advantage, good enough for second in the league. Greg Stewart is first on the team and 5th in the league with 131 PIM. Goaltender Cedrick Desjardins has seen the majority of time between the pipes for the Bulldogs this season, posting a 6-6-0 record in 12 games for the Bulldogs this season. His 2.58 goals-against average and a .916 rank him 16th and 15th in the league, respectively. Hamilton presently holds the third place standing in the AHL's North Division.
