Amerks Recall Matt Prapavessis from Elmira

(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has recalled defenseman Matt Prapavessis from the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.

Prapavessis, 24, has recorded two points (1+1) and 12 penalty minutes in 25 games this season with the Amerks, scoring his first professional goal at Utica on Jan. 30. He also registered two assists in seven ECHL games with Elmira.

In 2014-15, Prapavessis appeared in 10 games and recorded one assist with the Amerks after completing his collegiate career at Bemidji State University, where the 6-foot-1, 193-pound native of Oakville, Ontario, registered 70 points (15+53) and 63 penalty minutes in 150 games over four seasons. He closed out his senior campaign ranked first on the team and third among all WCHA defensemen in scoring while serving as team captain.
