Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans have partnered with Urology Associates of Rochester to participate in "Movember," as several members of the team are growing mustaches to raise awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men, during the month of November.

Among the Amerks players participating in Movember this month are forwards Luke Adam, Joel Armia, William Carrier, Dan Catenacci, Mikhail Grigorenko, Jordan Samuels-Thomas, Tim Schaller, Kevin Sundher and Phil Varone, along with defensemen Drew Bagnall, Jerome Leduc, Matt MacKenzie, Chad Ruhwedel and Mark Pysyk.

To help support Lipson Cancer Center, fans can donate funds on behalf of their favorite player during each of the Amerks' eight home games in November, beginning this Friday. A picture of each player will be on display at the Amerks Community Table located on the main concourse of The Blue Cross Arena during those games, and fans will be able to place donations in the jar associated with their favorite player. Fans that donate will be entered into a raffle to win great Amerks prizes.

Specialty Movember T-shirts will be on sale at the Amerks Team Store presented by Adpro Sports throughout the month. For each T-shirt sold during November, the Amerks will donate $5 to the Lipson Cancer Center.

On Friday, Nov. 28, the Amerks will host Movember Night presented by UAR during the game against the Grand Rapids Griffins. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free Movember-themed T-shirt courtesy of UAR. There will also be Movember-themed Mystery Pucks for sale that night, with proceeds being donated to the Lipson Cancer Center.

Throughout the month, the Amerks will take photos and videos of the players' progress that will be posted on the team's Facebook page.
