
Amerks Announce 2008-09 Preseason Schedule

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the Amerks will be playing in three American Hockey League preseason contests.
The three-game in three-night stretch begins on Thursday, October 2nd as Rochester travels down the I-90 Interstate to battle the Syracuse Crunch at 7:00 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
The following night, the Amerks remain on the road as they head out of state for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Lake Erie Monsters on Friday, October 3rd at Hoover Arena in Strongsville, Ohio. The game will be the first leg of a home-and-home series between the North Division foes.
Rochester will close its preseason schedule with the second of two tilts with Lake Erie at home on Saturday, October 4th at the ESL Sports Centre (2700 Brighton-Henrietta Townline Rd.). Faceoff is set for 7:35 p.m. For ticket information, please call the Amerks office at (585) 454-5335.
The Amerks will open their 53rd season in the AHL on Friday, October 10th against the Syracuse Crunch at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. Faceoff is slated for 7:35 p.m.
Rochester enters the season as the sole affiliate of the National Hockey League's Florida Panthers. The Amerks announced a three-year deal with the Panthers on June 19, 2008.
