Amerks and Knighthawks 'Popping In' This Summer
August 2, 2010 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Rochester Knighthawks News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The aroma of popcorn fills the Rochester Americans and Knighthawks sales offices at The Blue Cross Arena this summer. That's because the sales staff is busy making and packaging popcorn as part of new sales initiative this offseason. The account executives are "Popping in" at local businesses that have not yet renewed their season tickets.
"The 'Popping in' concept allows our sales force to reengage past individual and corporate partners," said Amerks and Knighthawks President Lewis Staats. "We have discovered that the Rochester market has embraced the program and the numbers support that. We also realized that people really love popcorn."
The program has already yielded 30 new Amerks season tickets and 20 Knighthawks season seats. Each day, the account executives hit the streets and deliver popcorn to 25 businesses with the goal of reaching at least 100 per week. The plan was devised to reintroduce businesses and fans to the American Hockey League and National Lacrosse League teams with a little help from an 8-by-10 box of delicious popcorn.
"It has been a fun process seeing the staff excited about scooping popcorn and filling orders," said VP of Ticketing Adam Winslow. "It is another creative way we have implemented this season to sell season tickets."
If you would like to be visited by a member of our sales team, and are interested in renewing or purchasing season tickets, please call (585) 454-5335. The popcorn is hot and ready to travel. All you have to do is add the tickets and the butter.
