Americans Win Behind Big Night by Moore

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans beat the Wichita Thunder on Friday night, 5-3 in front of a big crowd of just under 4,000 at Allen Event Center.
Bryan Moore scored four goals for Allen, becoming just the second player in team history to do that. Moore joins Jack Combs who had four against the Missouri Mavericks in 2014. With the four he now has 18 on the season.
"I was feeling great out there tonight," said Moore, who could have had five goals in the game, feeding Chad Costello for the empty netter to seal the win. "I knew that Costello needed one more for his 300th point with the Americans, and I wanted to see him score that goal."
Costello had a three-point game with a goal and two helpers and now has 72 points on the season. Spencer Asuchak had three assists in the game and is now up to 15th in the league in scoring with 41 points.
The Americans started a new winning streak after having their seven game winning streak snapped on Monday afternoon in a 5-4 loss to Missouri. The Americans are now 12-0-1-1 in their last 14 games.
Matt DeBlouw earned the third star of the game for Wichita scoring shorthanded, as well as on the power play, in a three-point night in a losing effort. The Americans improve to 7-0-1 on the year against Wichita. The two clubs will meet again Saturday night at 7:05 pm on Star Wars Night in Allen.
