Allen, Texas- The Allen Americans took Game 1 of their first round series with Texas Brahmas 5-0 on Friday night to take a 1-0 series lead.

McKenzie fired a one-timer past Brahmas goalie Mark Guggenburger to put Allen up 1-0. Fourteen minutes later the Americans added to their lead when Bruce Graham picked up the first of two on the night. Jarret Lukin flying in on the left wing dropped one back to Bruce Graham who buried a one-timer with four seconds left on the power-play to make the score 3-0 Americans. Texas outshot Allen 10-7 in the second but was unable to solve Reggie Beauchemin.

Jarret Lukin had three helpers for Allen while Jim McKenzie and Mike Berube both had a two point night.

"It was a big win tonight," said Americans Captain Jason Deitsch. "Now we have to get ready for game two on Sunday. Beauchemin played great and made some big saves for us. It was a good way to start the playoffs"
