Americans Look to End Three Game Skid Tonight

Moline, Illinois - The Allen Americans resume their near week-long road trip tonight in the Quad Cities against the Quad City Mallards at 7:05 pm.

The Americans dropped a 5-2 decision to Quad City on Wednesday night, surrendering three goals in the third period, including an empty netter late in the contest, as the Mallards won the first game between the two clubs this season.

"We fought back twice, only to give up the go-ahead goal the other night in a game that I thought we fought hard," said Americans defenseman Daniel Tetrault. "Pitton made some big saves for us and deserved a better fate. A couple of bad bounces were the difference for Allen, who did surrendered one of those three third period goals on a 5 on 3 power play."

The Americans are led by rookie forward Alex Lavoie, who picked up his 35 th assist of the season the other night in defeat. Allen continues to miss their blue-line leader Tyler Ludwig, who leads the team in power play goals with 8. Darryl Bootland, has been out of the lineup for two of the last three games on personal leave. He could return tonight, as well as the debut of Johnathan Zion, who was signed to a contract last week.

The Americans and Mallards drop the puck at 7:05 pm at the I Wireless Center in Moline, Illinois. Allen is 4-2-0 lifetime against Quad City, who remains in the thick of things in the playoff picture in the CHL.

Allen will hit the ice at 11:00 am this morning for the Game Day Skate. The team will travel to Kansas City immediately after tonight's contest and play the Missouri Mavericks tomorrow night to wrap up the road trip.
