Cutthroats Hook the Rush

Denver "" The Denver Cutthroats and Rapid City Rush faced off for the second night of the three-game series on Friday, February 7 at the Denver Coliseum. The Cutthroats defeated the Rush 3-2 for the first time at home in the 2013-14 season.

Daniel Amesbury (Jason Cohen, Phil Tesoriero) scored his first goal of the season and the opening goal of the night to give the Denver Cutthroats a 1-0 lead over the Rapid City Rush.

Short-handed at the start of the second period, Denver's Mikael Tam (T.J. Fox, Matt Glasser) scored his first goal of the season with the Cutthroats to increase the lead 2-0. Lee Moffie (Troy Schwab, Garett Bembridge) fired a shot between the posts to score the Cutthroats third consecutive goal of the night. Scott Wray of the Rush found the back of the Cutthroats empty net to put the score at 3-1 Denver.

With less than two minutes remaining in regulation, Rapid City's Konrad Reeder (Brett Kostolansky, Jesse Schultz) scored to narrow the deficit by one. The horn sounded before Rapid City had the chance to send the game into overtime, giving Denver a 3-2 victory. This is the first time in the 2013-14 season series that the Denver Cutthroats have defeated the Rapid City Rush at home.
