
Americans Host Quad City Friday Night as Semifinals Open in Allen

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans now know who they will be facing in Round 2, after the Quad City Mallards eliminated the Rapid City Rush in 7 games with a 3-1 victory on Wednesday night in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The Americans were 2-2-0 against Quad City in the regular season, with both teams winning a game on the other's home ice. The Mallards were the #5 seed in the CHL playoffs and become the 4 th straight road team to close out the series, following in the path of the Americans, Cutthroats and Sundogs.
"The Quad City Mallards are a hard working team with excellent goaltending," said Allen Americans Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson.Quad City is led by forwards Thomas Frazee and Vladimir Nikiforov, who have eight points each this post-season. Goalie Thomas Heemskerk is 3-1 so far with a 1.76 GAA and a .937 SV %.
The Americans are led in scoring by Greger Hanson, who has nine points in five games, 4 goals and 5 assists. Bruce Graham is right behind Hanson with eight points. The Americans have been great on special teams this post-season, with the second ranked power play and third overall on the penalty kill.
Tickets for Round 2 are on sale now at the Allen Event Center Box Office or online at www.ticketmaster.com . Game 1 will be Friday night at 7:05 pm, with Game 2 on Easter Sunday afternoon at 5:05 pm.
