American Idol… Not Quite: Mavs Audition Anthem Singers and Mascot

March 18, 2005 - California League (CalL1)
High Desert Mavericks News Release

Simon, Paula, and Randy will be absent, but performers will still have to bring their "A" game to Mavericks Stadium next weekend. On Saturday, March 26 the High Desert Mavericks will hold official National Anthem and mascot tryouts from 10 AM to 2 PM at Mavericks Stadium.

National Anthem tryouts will be on a first-come, first-serve basis between 10 and 2 with no appointment needed. Anthem performers are expected to perform the National Anthem from memory without any musical accompaniment and under 90 seconds. Performers are also encouraged to bring earplugs, due to the delay in the stadium's sound system.

The Mavs are also looking for an enthusiastic, athletic, outgoing individual that is interested in the Mascot Arts. On Saturday March 26 from 10 AM to 2 PM, the Mavs will be holding auditions for a mascot position with the team.

More information on tryouts can be obtained by calling Monica Ortega at the Mavericks office at 246-MAVS.

The Mavs open the 2005 season at home on April 7 at 7:05 PM against the Lancaster JetHawks, with a post game fireworks show courtesy of Highway 395 Safety Coalition, "Don't Pass on Safety."

Season tickets, mini plans, and group outings are available now by calling the Mavericks ticket office at 246-MAVS or online at www.hdmavs.com. Single game tickets will go on sale, Tuesday, March 29 at 8 AM.
