Kansas City 3, Amarillo 1

The Kansas City T-Bones took advantage of some early opportunities to top the Amarillo Sox 3-1. Kansas City 1B Hunter Mense brought home two runs in the bottom of the first inning on a double that scored DH Brandon Jones and RF Ray Sadler. The T-Bones took a 3-0 lead when LF Justin Bass brought SS Jose Duran home with a sacrifice fly. That would be all the run support P Brian Grening would need as he picked up the win, scattering six hits over eight innings and allowing just one run. Amarillo DH Chuck Lofgren scored the Sox' only run with a solo homerun leading off the top of the fifth inning.

Wichita 13, Sioux City 4

The Wichita Wingnuts finished off the Sioux City Explorers with nine runs in the last three innings to win 13-4. Tied at 4 in the seventh inning, RF David Peralta broke the game open with a three-RBI triple to give the Wingnuts the lead for good. Peralta was 2-for-4 on the night with two runs. Wichita tacked on four runs in the eighth with the help of a lead-off solo homerun from LF Jared McDonald. The Wingnuts added on two more in the ninth on a triple by CF Mike Conroy. Both Conroy and 2B Jake Kahaulelio had a team-high three hits in the game. P Derek Blacksher earned the win for eight innings of work in which he allowed four runs on nine hits.

Gary SouthShore 10, Lincoln 7

The Lincoln Saltdogs couldn't survive giving up nine early runs to the Gary SouthShore RailCats and fell by a 10-7 final. In the bottom of the first inning the RailCats sent 13 batters to the plate and score nine runs on seven hits and two Saltdog errors. Gary SouthShore added another run in the sixth on a RBI single from RF Mike Massaro. Massaro had a game-high three RBI on a 3-for-5 night, he also scored twice. DH Michael Coles and SS Kyle Haines each had two hits for the RailCats as well. P David Quinowski picked up the win for 1.1 innings of relief work.

Fargo-Moorhead 9, Winnipeg 6

Eight of the nine Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks batters registered at least one hit as they beat the Winnipeg Goldeyes 9-6. RedHawk DH Ryan Delgado got things going with a three-run homerun in the top of the first inning. It was only hit of the game but he finished with a game-high four RBI. RF Sergio Pedroza followed Delgado with a homerun of his own to put the RedHawks up 4-0. SS Zach Penprase was also solid offensively against the Goldeyes going 1-for-2 and drawing three walks. He scored three times. For Winnipeg, both CF Chris Roberson and 1B Jon Weber had homeruns. P Alex Caldera earned the win for his 5.2 inning start in which he gave up three runs on five hits.

Sioux Falls 4, St. Paul 3 (13 Innings)

The Sioux Falls Pheasants knocked off the St. Paul Saints 4-3 in 13 innings with the help of SS Cory Morales late home run. Morales turned on a two ball, two strike delivery in the top of the 13th inning to break the 3-3 tie. It was his fourth homerun of the season. The Saints were trailing by a run going in to the bottom of the ninth but 1B/3B Ronnie Bourquin quickly tied the game with a lead-off home run. For the Saints, 3B/SS Tanner Townsend and RF Jose Hernandez both also had solo homeruns. The win went to P Jack Van Leur for closing out the last 1.1 innings and giving up just one hit.

New Jersey 8, Grand Prairie 8 (Suspended -- 15 innings)

The New Jersey Jackals and the Grand Prairie AirHogs played 15 complete innings of level baseball and due to league curfew rules play has been suspended. The game will resume Saturday.

Laredo 13, El Paso 8

Laredo Lemur lead-off man SS Jimmy Mojica lead the way as the Lemurs bested the El Paso Diablos 13-8. Mojica was 3-for-5 with a game-high four RBI. Two of his three hits were doubles. RF Stephen Pearson also had three hits for the Lemurs in four at bats. Pearson also had an RBI and it came in the first inning. The Diablos answered Laredo's quick start and the two teams were tied at three after one but a five-run fourth inning and a three-run fifth gave the Lemurs plenty of cushion. P Matt Way earned the win despite allowing five runs on nine hits in six innings.
