Grand Prairie 8, Rockland 3

Already leading, 3-0, with two outs in the seventh inning, Grand Prairie made a two-out rally and doubled their lead to six runs. The final two runs came on a two-RBI single from RF Kenny Held. Held went 1-for-2 on the evening. Three AirHogs batters got three hits, with 3B Greg Porter going 3-for-5 with two RBI. At the plate for Rockland, SS Matt Nandin went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Starting AirHogs pitcher Teddy Nowell threw six shutout innings, allowing two hits and four walks with three strikeouts to earn his first win with Grand Prairie.

Amarillo 6, Kansas City 1

Starting Sox pitcher Jack Spradlin threw eight shutout innings against Kansas City, striking out six T-Bones batters while allowing only five hits. Spradlin has 27 strikeouts on the season compared to 12 walks. Half of the Sox' six runs came on one swing of Adam Buschini's bat. The left fielder had just one hit on the night. But he made it count. The T-Bones' lone run came on a ninth-inning Brandon Jones single, but the home team couldn't rally against Amarillo reliever Wes Littleton.

Winnipeg 3, Fargo-Moorhead 2

The Goldeyes were held scoreless in eight of the nine innings against Fargo-Moorhead on Tuesday. But a three-run fourth gave Winnipeg a 3-2 win. A single to left from C Luis Alen brought Price Kendall and Jon Weber home to make the score 2-0. A wild pitch later in the frame brought Alen home from third. Winnipeg got a strong staff night from its pitchers, with the first reliever of the game, Brian Beuning, earning the win after throwing 1.2 innings of shutout baseball with thress trikeouts. RedHawks CF Nic Jackson went 2-5 with a double and his 27th RBI of the year, but Fargo-Moorhead couldn't quite pull off the win.

Wichita 19, Sioux City 10

The Wingnuts and Explorers combined for 35 hits - and 29 runs scored - with Wichita taking the victory, 19-10. Twenty-four of those 35 hits came with Wichita at the plate, including a 5-for-7 night from night from DH John Rodriguez. Rodriguez hit his seventh home run of the season to open the seventh inning. The six-foot lefty scored four runs and had four RBI, holding or tying for the lead in both statistical categories. The Explorers got three RBI from C/PH Adrian Martinez, who went 3-for-4 and scored a run. Martinez' season average is now at .293. But in the end, the offensive onslaught from Wichita was too much for Sioux City to contain.
