Lincoln 6, Sioux Falls 4

@ Sioux Falls, SD. Time: 2:24 Attendance: 2,722

W: Kyle Ruwe (7-2) L: Micah Posey (3-7) S: Matt Varner (15)

HR: LIN - Brett Cooley (9)

Lincoln 1B Brett Cooley ripped a two-run home run in the sixth inning that ended up being the decisive runs in a 6-4 win against Sioux Falls. Cooley hit his jack with one out against Sioux Falls starter Micah Posey after RF Bryan Warner had singled to run Lincoln's lead to 5-2. Sioux Falls narrowed the gap with two runs in the bottom of the inning, but three scoreless innings by the Lincoln bullpen and an insurance run help Lincoln's cause. Things got interesting in the bottom of the ninth with Sioux Falls trying to make a comeback. RF Scott Lydy led off the inning with a double, then SS Orlando Miller walked to put two on with no outs. A sacrifice groundout and a walk to CF Cameron Coughlan left the bases packed with one out. But Lincoln closer Matt Varner coaxed a strikeout and a groundout to end the game and pick up his 15th save of the season.

El Paso 10, Coastal Bend 5

@ El Paso, TX. Time: 2:55 Attendance: 2,713

W: Robert Wachman (4-3) L: Pedro Flores (2-6) S: None

HR: EL - Jorge Alvarez (7)

Two Coastal Bend runs in the top of the first inning didn't deter El Paso as they ripped 10 runs on 15 hits for the game to sweep the series against Coastal Bend with a 10-5 victory. The win marked El Paso's fifth in a row and kept them near the top of the South Division standings. 1-2-3 hitters Albenis Machado, Kory Drew and Jorge Alvarez blazed the path, combining to go 9-for-13 with four RBI and eight runs scored. Both Machado and Alvarez doubled, and Alvarez added a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Drew sliced four singles on the night and stole a base. The Diablos also got two scoreless innings of relief from Dallas Strankman in the eighth and ninth innings.

St. Joe 8, Shreveport 7 (10 innings)

@ St. Joseph, MO. Time: 3:14 Attendance: 689

W: Caleb Balbuena (2-2) L: Matt Lawrence (0-1) S: None

HR: SHR - Deacon Burns (2), Justin Humphries (8)

A thriller in St. Joseph saw the Blacksnakes give up three heartbreaking runs in the top of the ninth inning only to rally for four runs in the ninth to send the game into extra innings. Then in the bottom of the 10th, LF Andy Wilson's bases-loaded single plated the winning run for a huge St. Joe comeback victory. The game was tight throughout, heading into the ninth with Shreveport leading 4-3. The Sports then got a three-run longball from CF Deacon Burns, his only hit of the night, to seemingly put the game out of reach. But four runs on four hits in the bottom of the ninth kept St. Joe alive, and all they needed was one more inning to seal the game. The Blacksnakes ripped 18 hits on the night compared to only eight for Shreveport, but committed three errors as well. Caleb Balbuena's scoreless top of the tenth inning gave himself the win.

Fort Worth 8, Pensacola 7 (11 innings)

@ Fort Worth, TX. Time: 4:04 Attendance: 3,517

W: Juan Figueroa (1-3) L: Logan Williamson (2-3) S: None

HR: PEN - Joe Hulett (1) FTW - Marc Mirizzi (7), Kelley Gulledge (6)

A four-hour long nailbiter of a game that went into extra innings left the Fort Worth fans feeling elated from a 8-7 Fort Worth victory against Pensacola on Sunday night. Fort Worth seemed to be on its way to an easy win after amassing a 6-2 lead in the third inning, but Pensacola chipped away with a run in the sixth, eighth, and two in the ninth to send the game into extra frames. After a scoreless 10th, Pensacola plated a run in the top of the 11th in what looked to complete their comeback. But Fort Worth, which hadn't scored in seven innings, responded with two runs in the bottom of the 11th thanks to a walkoff double by C Kelley Gulledge. Gulledge earns game MVP honors, finishing 3-for-6 and only a triple short of the cycle. He drove in three runs and scored once. Pensacola CF Chris Reynolds put on just as strong of a show, finishing 4-for-5 and driving in three runs of his own.
