The El Paso Diablos pounded out 10 hits and narrowly beat Lincoln going away to win their seventh game in a row. Diablos starting pitcher Greg Wiltshire went the distance, allowing just three hits and striking out four, to notch the shutout and pick up his third win of the year. El Paso CF Kory Drew was 2-for-4 in the game and C Mathew Kent was 2-for-3 to lead the way for the Diablos at the plate. DH Jorge Alvarez, who was named American Association Player of the Week, had just one hit, but it was a big one, driving in the game's only run in the fifth inning. Pelicans starter Colin Young pitched well in the losing effort, allowing one run on six hits through six five innings of work.

Coastal Bend 6, Shreveport 1

Coastal Bend got a great outing from starting pitcher Derrick Van Dusen to improve to 5-7 on the year with a win at home against Shreveport. Van Dusen allowed just one run on four hits and struck out six in 8 1/3 innings of work to improve to 3-0 on the season. Offensively, the Aviators had a good day as well, tallying 10 hits and six runs, four of which came in the second inning. Leading the way at the plate for Coastal Bend was 2B James Lofton who was 3-for-4. DH Philip Grau was 1-for-3 and drove in three to support the winning effort. Shreveport RF Dusty Maddox got the Sports on the board with his first home run of the season in the ninth. He was 1-for-4.

Sioux City 11, St. Paul 6

Sioux City used 16 hits to plate 11 runs and improve to 4-8 on the year with a convincing win against St. Paul at home. Sioux City 3B Jake Daubert led the way for the Explorers, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, four runs scored and five RBI. C Mike Richardson also hit a home run in the game, his third, and LF Jorge Moreno and 1B Julian Benavidez were each 3-for-4 in the winning effort. The beneficiary of such run support was starting pitcher Alexander Francisco, who allowed just two runs through six innings while striking out two to improve to 2-0.

Sioux Falls 12, Fort Worth 3

Sioux Falls plated 12 runs on 13 hits to win easily at home and improve their record to a North Division best 10-2. Canaries starting pitcher Jeff Landing allowed just one earned run on seven hits in seven innings of work to improve to 3-0. But it was the work of Sioux Falls 1B Abner Arroyo that was most impressive. Arroyo was 5-for-5 in the game with two home runs, two runs scored and seven RBI to lead the way. 2B Trevor Lawhorn also had a great night at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a homer and two RBI.

Lincoln 8, St. Joe 6

Lincoln used its 15 hits to plate eight runs and edge the St. Joe Blacksnakes to improve to 7-4 on the year. Saltdogs starting pitcher Dan Reichert picked up his first win of the season by allowing five runs through seven innings and striking out eight. Matt Varner picked up his first save of the season thanks to a scoreless ninth. The Saltdogs were led by LF Pichi Balet at the plate. Balet was 4-for-5 with a run scored and four RBI. St. Joe 3B Brian Rios and CF David Fowler each hit their first home run of the year in the losing effort.
